The mechanical transmission locking system provides a reliable means of protecting vehicles against attempted theft even more effectively. It is a high-quality security system which offers Škoda‘s most effective vehicle protection in this price range. Careful consideration has gone into the design of this security system; as a result, the lock protrudes only very slightly into the vehicle interior. The system works by mechanically locking the gearstick in reverse gear, which prevents it from being shifted to a forward gear. The key for locking and unlocking the system is included in the set. The console with lock is manufactured from high-quality surface-treated steel. This is secured to the gearshift using shear bolts and nuts, making it impossible to remove. The lock cylinder is resistant to drilling and attempts to break it open, and cannot be locked by mistake.
